So Friday was the 2nd time I came here. Had a much better experience. Had afterwork drinks at the bar with my friends. The bartender, Summer was very attentive and helpful when it came to the drink choices. Food was very good. Looking to try some different dishes next time.

This place was lit!!! We had to pay $20 for valet parking. Guys had to pay $20 to enter. Women free! The DJ was rocking from old school to new school, reggae to reggaeton which set the tone for a great night!! The waitress was very friendly and down to earth she even sang along to a song we were singing at the table. Lol. The food was good! I ordered smothered pork chops they weren't that tender but seasoned well. Bill came out to $300 for 4 people plus drinks. Hope this helps..

Came here on a Monday night with my family for my mother's birthday. When we arrived, a valet parked our car and we went inside and were slightly confused about how to get into the actual restaurant until an employee came downstairs and directed us. We were seated right away as there were only a few other groups there. We were given a basket with cornbread and a few biscuits and I wasn't a fan of either as they were dry. I ordered the Jumbo hot wings, tostones and spanish rice with gandules. Everything was delicious and filling. I could barely finish my entire meal. I also ordered a frozen mojito which tasted more like lime than anything else, but it tasted pretty good and was just strong enough. The waiter, whose name I unfortunately didn't hear, gave excellent service and checked on us often. I enjoyed the music which was throwback R&B and Hip Hop and some recent R&B and Hip Hop. Would definitely come here again.

I've been to Don Coqui here about four times and this was my first time going to Get Soul. Honestly I don't see much of a difference between the two restaurants. I liked Don Coqui and I like Get Soul. The layout is exactly the same as before - the only difference that I noticed was that there a few "southern" meal options on the menu. My family and I went for my son's birthday. My daughter had previously been to Get Soul for their Sunday brunch and after reading some no-so-nice comments here on Yelp I was hesitant to go, but our food was good and plentiful. It was Karaoke night and it was pretty enjoyable to watch people get up and sing plus the songs that were played was good so the restaurant had a good vibe going that night. We started off with drinks and after some confusion on the waitress part about my son's drink we finally got them and they were alright. I ordered a frozen margarita and it was a typical frozen drink that you get at a restaurant - it was more like drinking an icee but I'm getting used to not having liquor in my drinks - lol! Water was brought to the table and I had to ask our waitress about three times for straws. While she didn't seem to have an attitude, she appeared to not really be into her job as I don't recall her coming back to check on us - but when we received our check her tip was included (and we were only a party of four). I ordered the shrimp Mofongo. This was the first time that I've ever had it and it was good but I don't have anything to compare it to. My daughter ordered the fried chicken and she got four nice size pieces with mac and cheese which wasn't so good and candied yams. My son ordered the full slab of ribs and my goodness did he get a plate full of ribs. It was definitely enough to take home. The ribs only come with one side (which I can't figure out why) and he ordered the mac and cheese too but didn't care for it. My daughter in law ordered the ox tails with mac and cheese and the black eye peas. The ox tails were plentiful, nicely seasoned, but a little tough. She enjoyed the black eye peas, but the consensus at the table was the mac and cheese needed some work. I did ask the waitress to bring out a small cake and candle for my son which she did and we sang happy birthday so I was glad that she got that part right. All in all it wasn't a bad evening and I would go back there again.
